Hi! It's been a while since I've ever posted here right? Well, I'm having back-to-back exams lately :") Why? You'll know soon ;) Since most of yall might know that we had just had our PPT SBP in July and I think I should be very grateful to go for a short getaway and that is to go back home for Eid Adha! Apparently......
Alright so this Eid (or any celebration this year after MCO), it is definitely not the same as the previous years. 1) Going home is a hassle since Kuching is a red zone at that time and 2) I just had to go home since this might be the last time I'm going back to Kuching until I finish my SPM in 2021. I didn't want to go back at first but then again, it's eid and I wanna meet my family members in Kuching so bad. Plus, I don't have any relatives in the peninsular lol. So exactly 3 Wednesdays ago, I came home but I didn't expected my stay in Kuching would extend.
It was that night I came home that I found out I might be attached to another school in Kuching. I was flabbergasted. I was utterly shocked. I was kinda excited too but scared at the same time. It's like I'm being transferred to another school for the next, two weeks?!? And it's the new kid thingy that usually gives a hard time on some people.
Back to the story, why the attachment? It's because I had to self quarantine once I arrive in KL so like initially, I was supposed to self quarantine in YSKL but mom said I should stay in Kuching just until the coast is clear. The air is contaminated and it's kinda scary yk, yikes. Then yada yada yada long story cut short, I got attached to Kolej Abdillah in Kuching from 4/8/20 to 19/8/20, today. Oh and the "best part" is their mid-year exams starts on 6/8/20. Mom told me a day before I entered school (and unfortunately, I cried because I literally just finished my mid-year exams in coll). And yes, I took the exam. Hello August exam :"")
But I really didn't mind after that. Anyways, so my first day of school went pretty well! The first and second day of school was a normal learning session in class and I'm forever grateful for my new classmates. They're so kind and friendly!! And most importantly, who knew the first person I contacted before I went to Kolej became my classmate! She goes by the name Adeela. She was also my classmate when I was in standard 6 and we were very close back then. We do contact each other sometimes and she told me days after I first step foot on the grounds of Kolej that she didn't expected for me to be there because she thought it was my cousin or some other friend that intended to go to Kolej, lol. Since I went back home from coll with not much books, she was such a sweetheart to send me some notes via telegram for me to study. Hua words seriously cannot describe how lucky I was. Thank you sooo much Adeela! (I hope you're reading this) Oh and not to forget a new found friend, Bazi! She sat in front of me and she was the other person to show me places in Kolej. I went to the school library on the second day to have a good meal of Nasi Ayam Kicap with the library teacher because of her. How cool is that! She even invited me to present in front of the class on my first two days in Kolej haha. There's other people in class/school I'd like to thank too but I hope a simple thank you could suffice to express my gratitude.
*fasts forward to yesterday* So we finished the exams and guess what, I joined their Hari Kemerdekaan Celebration too! I missed my last celebration of Hari Kemerdekaan in coll but then again, I get to experience celebrating it at another school. Alhamdulillah I'm so lucky!
Meeting my old schoolmates reminded me of the times when I was in primary school. Oh and finally I can speak in sarawak in class! Lately in coll, my friends have been asking me to speak some sarawak words. And ofc, no one can speak back in the same slang hahahaa. Who knew it was a sign lol!
Anyways, I really wish I could write more but time is so precious and I have to leave and go back to college soon. To sum it up, being in Kolej was actually a wonderful experience for me. I had the chance to meet my old friends, make new ones, joined their school event and who would have thought I took their exams too! I'd also like to dedicate this post to the wonderful educators in Kolej. I got some extra worksheets from them and learning in class was never a bore. Although I'm new (or temporary haha),they treated me just like their own students too and I am so grateful for that too. After receiving some of my papers, I was kinda glad they pointed out my mistakes in the exams ,whew. I guess that's all I can write (I mean type) for now. See you next year! SPM is calling. Toodles!!
xoxo,
a.k.
